South Bucks Sports Partnership
At Alfriston School, we host the Inclusive South Bucks School Sports Partnership, where our motto is ‘A Sporting Chance for Every Child’ – and our vision really is as simple as that.
We work with a number of primary, secondary and special needs schools to ensure EVERY child and young person has a positive experience of both physical activity and school sport, as well as access to a wide range of activities. We strongly believe that everyone has the right to access high quality PE, school sport and physical activity.
Inclusion Lead School
We are proud to be one of just 50 lead schools from across England that have been established and selected for our recognised expertise in engaging young disabled people in PE and Sport.
As Inclusion Champions, we lead the way in making PE and school sport open, fun, and meaningful. We work with schools to empower teachers, allowing them to feel confident and supported in making their PE lessons more inclusive, creating exciting and fair opportunities for friendly competition, and even providing inclusive leadership opportunities. Our goal is to raise pupil’s aspirations, build confidence, and help every child feel like they belong in the world of sport.
South Bucks School Games Organiser
It is a privilege for us to serve as a host, and be part of the network of South Bucks School Games Organisers. We are one of eight hosts from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, working with schools from across South Bucks, National Governing Bodies and the County Sports Partnership (LEAP) to provide lots of ways for young people across Bucks and Milton Keynes to take part in and compete with others across the county.
The School Games mission and vision is to:
- Make a positive and meaningful difference to the lives of young people.
- Put physical activity and sport at the heart of schools.
- Provide young people with the opportunity to enjoy and learn through competition to achieve their personal best.
We help open doors to sport and physical activity for every young person. Through our work with schools across South Bucks, we create fun, inclusive events and competitions where children of all abilities can join in, feel part of a team, and enjoy being active. Our role is to support and encourage schools, making it easier for everyone to offer exciting and meaningful sporting opportunities.

The Sports Partnership Team should be recognised for their exemplary dedication and tireless efforts in supporting all partnership schools. They consistently go above and beyond, providing invaluable advice and high-quality continuing professional development (CPD) for staff, which significantly enhances our pedagogical approaches to sports. Their initiatives create numerous exciting opportunities for all pupils, ensuring that every child is included and able to participate, regardless of their ability level… Their ability to motivate and engage pupils is commendable; they inspire them [the students] to become active participants in sports, instilling a sense of enthusiasm and teamwork. Overall, their contributions have been transformative for our schools, fostering a more inclusive and dynamic sports culture that benefits all students. We are incredibly grateful for their leadership and commitment to excellence.
On behalf of Sarah and the Dorney School community, I wanted to thank you [Alfriston School Sports Partnership Team] for all the effort you put into organising events and competitions for as many children as possible to participate. Your effort and hard work do not go unnoticed, and we wanted you to know that we are truly grateful.
I have spoken to a few of our children who took part in the swimming gala, the squash event and on Girls' Football Day, their enthusiasm and positivity were fantastic! I wish I could bottle these [feelings] to sell as this could be a wonderful sport fundraiser.
The support from the Sports Partnership has been invaluable. Their passion, knowledge and commitment are incredible. This makes working with them inspirational and fun! They have supported us on every step of our journey from implementing sensory circuits in PE, organising Sports days to developing active lunchtime clubs and many more. We could not have done it without the help from the Sports Partnership!
Everyone was very supportive, encouraging and inclusive, we all felt right at home.
