Friends of Alfriston

Alfriston School

About us

Friends of Alfriston is the school’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association) – a small, friendly group of parents, carers and staff who work together to support Alfriston School. We raise funds to enhance pupils' learning experiences by improving facilities and resources.

We meet a few times a year to organise fun, inclusive events that benefit both students and the wider school community.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

Every time you support Friends of Alfriston – whether by coming to an event, donating a cake to a bake sale, or becoming a fully-fledged member of the team – you’re making a real difference in our school community.

Thanks to your generosity and the support of local grants, we've been able to invest in some fantastic improvements. For example, Alfriston’s music department now has a brand-new electronic drum kit, courtesy of The Roland Callingham Foundation, giving students exciting new ways to explore music. We've also made the Forest School area more engaging and practical, allowing pupils to enjoy more hands-on, outdoor learning experiences.

Through funding from the Beaconsfield Old Church School Charity, we've expanded opportunities in the Key Stage 3 sewing curriculum by purchasing new equipment. We’ve also been able to enhance the sensory resources available to students and create a bespoke Occupational Therapy space that better meets their needs.

One of our proudest achievements is helping to launch a fully resourced, dedicated Wellbeing Room. For the first time, this space gives students a calm environment to reflect, recharge, and feel supported throughout their day.

These are just some of the many ways your involvement enriches school life at Alfriston. Together, we're creating meaningful experiences and better opportunities for every pupil.

Events & Activities

Throughout the year, we organise a variety of events that bring joy to our community while raising funds. Whether it’s the excitement of our Bingo Nights, the chance to win in our 90 Club Tombola, or the buzz of the Summer Holiday Shop, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

We’re especially proud of our annual September Fun Day, which has become a beloved tradition for the school and local community. And during the festive season, we make sure every pupil can join in the fun at our Christmas Fayre – no one is left out.

Our events aren’t just about fundraising; they’re about creating memories, encouraging participation, and building a strong, inclusive school spirit.

Pre-Loved Uniform Sales

Our pre-loved uniform sales are a great way to pick up quality items at a fraction of the price. It’s an easy way to save money, support sustainability, and help raise funds for the school all at once!

We run these sales regularly – to find out more about pre-loved school uniform, please contact the school office.

Get Involved

You don’t have to attend every meeting or plan every event to be part of Friends of Alfriston. Whether you have a talent to share, time to volunteer, or just want to stay in the loop, we welcome your support.

Even small gestures – like helping out at an event or donating items – make a big impact. We’d love to hear from you and find the right way for you to get involved.
