Christmas Card Competition As you know, each year at Alfriston we have a school Christmas Card printed for staff, students and their friends and families to buy at the Christmas Fair. The design on the front of the card shows the winning entry from our annual Christmas card competition. Each year we have lots of girls enter with creative ideas. This year the winning design was created by Sienna Dancer in 7B. A big well done to her for her geometric design.

Work Related Learning

Work Related Learning Year 10 and 11 have thoroughly enjoyed their weekly Work-Related Learning lessons this term. Year 10 have either participated in the Arts Award which takes the pupils on a creative journey whilst encouraging them to become actively involved in researching and experiencing new art forms; explored differnt options for their future by visiting, researching and experiencing different organisations and roles or have been engaged in Environmental Studies projects in the school garden and community allotments. West Wycombe Panto

West Wycombe Panto In Work Related Learning, the pupils helped to design the set and staging for the cast performing in the pantomime in West Wycombe. With support from Mrs Blackburn, Mrs Thatcher and Ms Lewis, all of the handmade props and back drops were created and delivered to the set. The pupils were allowed to meet the cast back stage and get a real taste for what happens behind the scenes throughout a production. Christmas Fayre The Christmas Fayre raised approximately £2500 for the school this year and was enjoyed by all who attended. V&A Trip

V&A Trip Mrs Blackburn has been working in collaboration with the V&A museum in London, to help create more inclusive workshops as a part of their offering. A result of this meant that 8 pupils took part in a pilot trial of the new V&A SEND education program. The first session was in school where the staff met the pupils and did some work on Japanese designs. The second part was a visit to the V&A where the pupils looked round the Japanese section of the museum and designed windmills and plates. The session finished with them experiencing a sensory…

Whole School Trip

Whole School Trip In September the whole school went on a trip to Brighton. The pupils visited the Sea Life Centre and loved viewing all the different types of sea life whilst learning about the conservation efforts organisations go to, to protect their habitats. Afterwards, we pitched up on the beach to enjoy an ice-cream in the sunshine and even have a little paddle in the sea! It was lovely to see the girls bonding and creating memories together that will stay with them throughout their time with us.

Rewards Trips

Rewards Trips On Thursday 20th July, the whole school took part in a variety of school trips and activities to say a huge well done for all their hard work this year. They had zorbing activities out on the school field with the PE department, a trip to Kidzania in London, another group visited the Science Museum in South Kensington, a trip to the spooky Hellfire Caves in West Wycombe, a local walk to Bekonscot Model Railway, a trip to Thomley Park and the final group had splashy fun at Coral Reef in Bracknell!
