Letter from Headteacher

16th December 2021 Dear Parents/Carers, This time last year I was writing yet another letter to parents, sitting alone in my office having had to move the whole school to remote learning for the last week.  This year, I am delighted and relieved to be writing this letter having just enjoyed Christmas lunch and carol singing with the girls, and looking forward to more events and activities to come. The staff and girls have been busy rehearsing and planning for lots of Christmas celebrations, and thankfully we have been able to carry out our plans to make Christmas as special…

Year 8 Residential

On Thursday 2nd December excitement was in the air as our Year 8s arrived at school for their first ever residential! They spent their morning making and decorating gingerbread with Miss Leahy, creating Christmas decorations with Mrs Holmes, and dancing their festive socks off with Miss Hines. It was smiles all round and we’d only just started! After lunch, we went off-site to visit Waddesdon Manor. There was so much to see, and the girls loved being able to decide how they wanted to spend their time in their groups. We enjoyed walking round the large Christmas market, buying hot…

Charity Sleepout for DENS

Last month the School Council organised their first event of the year. This took place on Friday 26th November when a huge number of our pupils took part in a Sleepout to raise money for a local charity called DENS. DENS help the homeless by giving them shelter, food parcels and help to rebuild lives. We have raised £770 which is an AMAZING amount towards helping DENS with the work they do.   Thank you all for your support in this event, it wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Here are some pictures of a few of the pupils and couple of the…

A group of students have been visiting BCA collage on a Fridays for their college link course. We have been getting used to college environment and doing lots of activities.  What have we been doing? During our BCA link course, we have been doing animal care. The animal care entails cleaning out the enclosures, feeding the animals and doing regular heath checks. Some of the animals we’ve been studying are Turkeys, Sheep, Pigs, Ferrets and Reptiles to name a few. One student was brave enough to sit in the turkey encloser and let them come up close to her. Soon…

Bucks College Group Link Courses

On a Monday three of us go to Aylesbury BCG Link courses for the day. We go to the college on a Monday so we can build our independence and confidence up for when we go to college next year and it helps us see how different college is to school. In college we don’t have a bell to say when the lesson is over. Also at a lunchtime in college we can go out to town and get lunch but at school we bring lunch in or we get it from Mr Clawson. I think school is calmer and…

Post 16 Volunteering

On a Wednesday afternoon as part of community engagement, a small group of us volunteer at a nursery called Little Cherubs. We have to support their routine of how they go through their day. At 2 o’clock they come out from their afternoon nap and do some play time before they get ready for their snack. When they have their snack, they have a bit of fruit or a breadstick with some water or milk. Once they have their snack, they get their coats and shoes and put them on, so we help them with that. After they have got…
