I hope you all managed to enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend, and are keeping well.
You will have heard the Prime Minister last night indicating that the government believes it may be in a position to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1 June, starting with pupils in reception, year one and year six. This is part of the government’s conditional plan which it says will remain under regular review. We are now waiting to receive more information from government but in the short-term, nothing has changed.
At Alfriston we are keen to start planning for increased opportunities for social interaction and the establishment of routines but in a way that maintains social distancing. We want to do this in a manner that is most appropriate for our pupils and staff, whilst taking into account the national advice. There are many individual factors and circumstances to take into account, and many means in which to achieve this, as well as many barriers to cross. I will be in discussion with our staff team and our governors over the coming days, and will keep you informed of any changes or developments.
