I hope that you and your loved ones are all well and adapting to this current situation.
School continues to remain open for a few pupils who meet the criteria of having parents who are key workers or who are in a vulnerable situation. This week we have had between 4 – 7 girls in on any one day, according to individual circumstances. Not surprisingly, as the lockdown goes on, more families are finding this situation increasingly difficult to cope with and may need some help. Please contact your pastoral tutor or the school office if this is the situation for you and someone will be in touch.
In an effort to ensure that all our pupils and families have the support that they need, we have been monitoring all those who are staying at home, and identifying any pupils who are not engaging. It has been wonderful to see how many girls have really got involved and are appreciating the work and activities that are being offered. Thank you to everyone for taking part in this home learning experience, and to your teachers for making this both fun and interesting.
Speculation and rumours are going around regarding when schools will re-open, but I receive daily updates from the DfE and Public Health England, various national professional bodies and associations and also from the Local Authority, and no decision has been made as yet as to when this will happen. It is my view that schools will not be opened on a set date, but that restrictions will be gradually eased and we will need to make our responses based on the best interests of our pupils and school as and when official information from the Government comes out.
I will keep you updated of any changes or developments, but for the time being we will be operating as we are doing so currently. As ever, keep safe and keep in touch.
