26th March 2020
We now seem to be entering a slightly more settled phase, as the 21-day lockdown period becomes established. Nearly all of our pupils and staff are staying at home, to ensure minimum contact with others and to help to prevent the spread of this virus. Today is day 4, so only 17 days to go! At the end of this period there will be a reassessment of the situation and it is at that time that we will expect further Government direction.
In the meantime, we remain open to provide support for our pupils whose parents are critical workers and unable to keep them at home. We are also providing support for some pupils with significant wellbeing and welfare vulnerabilities. Numbers in school are fluctuating, according to individual circumstances, but remain at less than 6. Teachers and other staff are coming in to care for them, and to keep the school operating safely. The rest of the staff and pupils are working from home, keeping in daily contact with each other and also with families.
Home learning is going well, with most pupils engaging, and maintaining contact. I do hope that you and your daughters are enjoying the work and activities provided. Please continue to check the Electronic Homework Diary every day for work and messages and if you have any difficulties with this, email the school and leave a message and we will try to get back to you when we can.
I will continue to keep you updated on any changes or developments, and hope that after the Easter holidays we can begin to see a clearer way forward.
Please stick to the Government guidance on lockdown procedures, to help us all.
