Today we find ourselves in a very different place at school, with 20 pupils attending. These are the pupils whose parents are critical workers and who are unable to ensure their child is kept at home. Every child who can be safely cared for at home should be.
We have split our available staff into two discrete teams, who will work on a rota of one week in school and one week from home, to reduce the risk of cross contamination. We are making an attempt at keeping the pupils at a safe distance from one another, and keeping the school (and pupils!) clean. It is vital that we reduce any social contact wherever possible. If you can keep your child at home, then it would be safer to do so.
The majority of our pupils will be working from home, just like our staff are doing. Our staff will be working to keep in contact with their groups, and to encourage and help the girls to maintain their learning. The girls will obviously miss their friends and the social contact, so we are doing all we can to keep in touch with them, and to help them through this period of isolation. Please check the Electronic Homework Diary every day for work and messages. If you have any difficulties with this, we will try to help you. Please email or phone the school and leave a message and we will get back to you when we can.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support and understanding, and together we hope to be able to support the Government’s strategy to tackle this dreadful pandemic. It is vital that we all do our bit to reduce social contact wherever possible.
I will keep you updated on any changes or developments, and wish you all a safe time with your families.
